When Nic Cage’s career sped down the proverbial shitter after a string of big-budget stinkers, the internet had an absolute field day poking fun of the crazy-haired actor with videos like this.
But that was sooo last decade.
In 2010, the satirists of internet now have director M. Night Shaymalan in their sights, who after a strong start to his career with The Sixth Sense and Signs, went on to make progressively worse films such as The Village, Lady in the Water and the unspeakable monstrosity known as The Happening. That movie sucks harder than anything you will ever see on porntube.com.
And it’s about to get a whole lot worse. Next week in Australia, audiences will be subject to one of the most critically reviled releases of the year, Shaymalan’s The Last Airbender. I’ll reserve judgment until I see it next week, but by all accounts, it’s about as fun as leprosy.
So in “celebration” of Shamalyn’s dogged career, comedy website CollegeHumor came up with this hilarious faux trailer that ridicules the fact that the director seems completely oblivious to his own awfulness. It sees Shamalayn asses the downfall of his career like it were a suspense-filled mystery, complete with a game-changing Shyamalanian twist to boot!
