An online festival that programs and presents from the best in film, video and digital storytelling, Portable is a festival for a new way of watching! From the second that the Portable Film Festival opens its virtual doors online, festival punters can take the program away with them. All they need is a portable device like an iPod, PSP, laptop, or fancy mobile phone. And guess what? It doesn’t cost one cent to enter or watch!
After presenting its largest ever festival program of 180 films from over 850 entries/46 countries in 2009, Portable returns for its fifth year of giving you the best in international film culture – so if you’ve got a vision for video or a story to tell, then we want to hear from you! We’re currently taking entries (January 14th – May 14th) across all festival categories: Short Film, Music Video, Look at Me (online video including serials and webisodes), Get Animated (a dedicated animation category), First Hand Capture (for content shot on mobile devices like cell phones), and full Feature Films.
Whether you’ve come from Cannes, or have a small budget and a big idea, Portable is the place to get yourself noticed! With a program that pits the best of the international fest set alongside the greatest of bedroom vloggers, Portable has become the place to hit the big-time online!
