In association with Footprint Films, we’re giving you the chance to win one of four in-season double-passes to see the brilliant new political thriller ‘Balibo‘ starring Anthony LaPaglia and Oscar Isaac, which opens nationally August 13th. To be in the running, simply fill out the entry form below!
Helmed by Australian director Robert Connolly (The Bank, Three Dollars), Balibo tells the true story of the five Australian journalists that went missing in East Timor in 1975 after the unsanctioned Indonesian invasion. Four weeks after their disappearance, veteran foreign correspondent Roger East (Anthony LaPaglia) is lured to East Timor by the young and charismatic Jose Ramos-Horta to tell the story of his country and investigate the fate of the missing men. As East’s determination to uncover the truth grows, the threat of invasion intensifies and an unlikely friendship develops between the last foreign correspondent in East Timor and the man who will become President.
In my five star review, I praised Balibo for being “one of the most captivating and thrilling films in years”. This is the must see film of 2009!
