Amanda Trevisanut, The Program Director for Portable Film Festival, sent me an email about this fantastic online short film festival where all the content is downloadable so it can be watch on your portable video player!
What better way to waste a bus or train ride to work than watching up and coming directors in action?
Heres a short summary of the festival:
The Portable Film Festival presents the best contemporary short film and video from all across the world; an online film festival which allows free streaming of all content, as well as free download of all content to portable consumer devices such as iPods, PSPs, or 3G mobile phones.
The festival has been based around a large scale competition for the last three years – this year, we attracted nearly 550 entries from 40 countries, and presented a program of 162 films. The content ranges from film students and emerging filmmakers through to professional productions which have been recognized at major site festival like Cannes, Sundance, Berlin, etc.
Whether your intend to contribute your own short film, review the entries or are simply sick of the junk you find on youtube, then check out www.portablefilmfestival.com!
Here’s a nice little Australian (a bit of Aussie pride, dare I say) entry that perfectly summaries the lengths filmmakers go to make their celluloid markings:
