Last week’s In shreds, which I was hoping would prove to be a bit more difficult than week 1, was snapped up by Evan Derrick like lightning! He correctly guessed the three films Training Day, Philadelphia and Gandhi and spotted the connection they each had – all 3 films won their lead’s a Best Actor Oscar at the Academy Awards. Well done Evan!

If you don’t know the drill, In Shreds is the weekly game where I “shred together” 3 movie posters. 1 point if you can guess all 3 films , and another point if you can spot what all three films have in common.
I can’t work out if this week’s is difficult, but that in itself probably means its not at all. Time will tell!

  • Yeah, it's a handy little plug-in for sure!

Incorrect though I am afraid. I'm reluctant to say the answer (cause i was really proud of this link!) but i don't think anyone is going to get it....

All 3 films have had a cast or crew member die in an aviation accident on set or location.
  • They all used a B-25 Mitchell?

And thank you for adding the "notify me of comments via email" button. VERY helpful. :)
  • The films were:
Film 1: Flight of the Phoenix (1965)
Film 2: Twilight Zone The Movie
    Film 3: Catch 22

Can you work out what links them Fletch? Still a point in it for the person who does :P
  • So...what were the answers?
  • More clues maybe?

Film 2 shared 4 directors. The title of the poster would also be quite prominent in the poster mash (probably making it TOO obvious) had it not been removed.

Film 3's title is now commonly used to refer to a dilemma without true choice.
  • I figured the one out that spawned a remake, but can't figure out the other two. I thought the "space" one was Wall-E, but it's not.

Hmm...either my readership has hit a low or I've stumped you all on this one.

    Maybe some clues might help?

Film 1 spawned a 2005 remake and Film 2 was based on a TV series of the same name. Film 3 is obvious enough I think!
